Are we ready? Sind wir bereit?

I just read the news headlines of the Marriot Hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan, having been attacked by a suicide bomber. Dozens of people have already died and hundreds are injured. Insane and disgusting. My father has sometimes resided in that exact hotel and was just there for several days three weeks ago. That reminded me that everywhere we go, life as we know it can suddenly be over. Are we ready to meet God on his terms? Death is a normal thing and we'd better get used to it. Let's pray for healing in Pakistan and begin the new day as if it could be our last. And thank God for eternal life in peace through Christ.

I was in Bali a few years ago with someone, and we went to this cool restaurant by the beach to have lunch. A few weeks later, I was watching the news at home back in the US and I saw that same restaurant destroyed by a bomb. There were dozens of casualties as well.

Haha, well, you do the rest. I can't pull it off! :)

True story. But in all seriousness though, I know what you're talking about. I think it's easy to forget how fragile life is, and I also think it's important to realize that we're accountable to how we use it before it's too late.
