Hello, believe it or not, I was actually not traveling until May. Instead my focus was on creating some PR material at the office, such as for our work in Central Asia. In May our Slovak radio partner, Radio 7 (www.radio7.sk), had Jon Hull from KSBJ (www.ksbj.org), a well-known expert in the US radio business, come over for a few days. The goal of Radio 7 is to start an FM station in Bratislava, such as the one they already have in Banska Bystrica. And what better expertise can you get than from someone like Jon? Therefore we all took a 3-hour ride over to the site of the Banska Bystrica FM station.
By the way, Alenka used to study there several years ago. It has the feel of a town, pretty and cozy, but it's actually Slovakia's third largest city.
Hallo, kaum zu glauben, aber bis in den Mai hinein habe ich keine Reisen unternommen. Stattdessen habe ich schön im Büro an Material für unsere Öffentlichkeitsarbeit gearbeitet, beispielsweise für unsere Arbeit in Zentralasien. Im Mai hat unser slowakischer Medienpartner, Radio 7 (www.radio7.sk), Jon Hull vom amerikanischen Radiosender KSBJ (www.ksbj.org) für einen Besuch eingeladen. Jon ist ein in der Radiowelt hoch angesehener Experte. Das Ziel von Radio 7 ist die Gründung eines FM Radiosenders in Bratislava, wie sie es bereits in Banksa Bystrica aufgebaut haben. Und wen kann man da besser um Rat fragen als Jon? Von daher kletterten wir ins Auto und fuhren die drei Stunden zur FM Station in Banksa Bystrica. Übrigens hat Alenka dort ihre Studienjahre verbracht. Es hat eher den Flair einer gemütlichen Kleinstadt, wobei Banska Bystrica die drittgrößte Stadt der Slowakei ist.
